I can be guilty of letting my mind be fogged with work, thoughts and affairs and to think that I could not spare my time to do a little unwinding that benefits my body and mind. The truth is, we are always going to be busy. If we can dedicate a good 30 minutes or however much time we have, what will usually happen to our task then? Our answer is usually nothing much. One of my favorite ways to help me return back to my senses after a day of sitting in front of the computer is to take a walk behind our apartment (there is a little pond) or the nearest park. I bring with me my camera and photograph things that tickle my senses at that moment. It can be a good practice as we may not take notice of things that we pass everyday or we always have.
I do not always do this, but I find that for the past couple of weeks, its been a soothing experience. Radouan (my husband) loves to photograph more than I do. It can be about anything, even if we are only going to take a look at them once or twice later. It is the moment when we find these photos like a treasure that have been buried with other photos which send us back to a moment of nostalgia.
A short walk in the park or whatever it is that will help you unwind on a daily basis, will benefit you to perform better, think better, decide better. We must allow ourselves to exhale it all out to avoid a burnout. It is entirely normal to feel stressed because maybe there is a pile of things to do and a lot of things going on at the same time. We are human and feel connected to the nature and our loved ones, it is very natural that we crave them, especially in the time of need. Plus, did you know that a simple walk in the park may bring you the strangest (but lovely) encounter? - ahem, I mean dog-watching :)
